Open-Lattice Abstract Resin Sculpture

An open-lattice abstract form cast in translucent resin, with multiple through-holes and irregular branching sections forming a single vertical composition.

The form has no repeated geometric element - each section is a different scale and orientation of looping, branching resin, connected into one continuous piece.

Through-holes of varying sizes are distributed across the full height of the sculpture, allowing light to pass through and creating shadow patterns on the surface beneath.

The resin carries a gradient from top to base: the uppermost sections are near-clear with an icy blue-grey cast, allowing full light transmission through the thinner walls.

The lower sections are progressively denser and darker, shifting toward deep black-blue and reading as near-opaque at the base of the sculpture.

The colour transition is not applied as a surface finish - it is cast into the resin itself and visible from all angles and through the open sections.

Under directional light, the upper sections glow and the lower sections absorb. Under ambient light, the full form reads as a single deep blue-grey mass.

The silhouette changes substantially when viewed from different angles - the open sections and branching forms create a different composition from the front, side, and diagonal.

At 49 cm tall on a 21 cm footprint, the piece holds vertical presence on a console or cabinet surface without requiring significant horizontal space.

The flat square black plinth provides a clean visual stop at the base, separating the organic resin form from the surface it sits on.
