Rare, 16 inch, 9ct Gold Antique Trombone FetterLink Watch Chain (20.28g)

This beautiful antique 9ct gold fancy fetter link chain dates from the late 1800s.  It features two matching, hallmarked dog clips, a beautiful hallmarked T -Bar and wonderful trombone links which are individually hallmarked. 

The 9ct gold of this chain is buttery and smooth, and it has a gorgeous patina which sparkles brightly as it catches the light, making it look more like a high carat gold.  The chain measures 16 inches, but has an additional link at its base which would take it to 17.5 inches. This final link has a bale attached from which a pendant or charms could be hung and it weighs a comfortable but substantial 20.28g.

Solid gold chains have been a fashion staple for over a century, and at this perfect length, they are highly sought after.  Their versitility means they can be worn alone, in a stack with longer or shorter chains.
