Suited Horse Resin Sculpture

Cast resin. Semi-handmade construction. Two finishes: White and Black. Freestanding, no assembly required.

The anthropomorphized animal in formal dress has a long presence in European satirical illustration, appearing in political caricature prints from the eighteenth century before translating into decorative objects as contemporary design found ways to carry ironic visual motifs at premium price points. The horse in a suit occupies a specific register in that tradition. The animal's upright neck structure and angular head geometry absorb tailoring detail without distortion, producing a figure that reads as composed rather than cartoonish.

The suit jacket, collar, and lapel are worked into the moulded surface relief of the cast. Surface detail is consistent across both finishes. White and Black carry the same underlying form; the finish changes how the relief reads under ambient light rather than altering the geometry beneath it.
