Vintage 14k Yellow Gold & Diamond Heart Locket

Locket's are truly one of my favorite pieces in this collection -- and this one has got HEART!

A wonderfully made, filigree-lined, heart shaped locket with a starburst set gem in the middle. 

I have styled this locked too many ways to count...on a skinny curb chain, on a lariat, on a rope chain, a foxtail chain, and even hanging from a slender diamond-accented pin.

While lockets were popular before the reign of Queen Victoria, one of her famous pieces is a heart-shaped locket that is part of the group of jewels placed in the Albert Room at Windsor Castle, after she died in 1901. The inscription on the bezel read, present from her mother to her beloved Victoria on the first anniversary of her birthday."
