This is an incredible antique acrostic, 'DEAREST' ring from the Art Deco era. Its multigems spell out the word, DEAREST; These gems comprise a central diamond in a star setting, 2 emeralds, an amethyst, a ruby, a sapphire and a topaz. A turquoise stone on each side completes the design.
The gems sit around the central diamond in a diamond shape and beautifully ornate floral engraving decorates each shoulder.
Currently a UK size K 1/2, or US size 5 1/2, the ring could be re-sized within reason.
This antique acrostic ring would have been given to a loved one as a token of affection, and to demonstrate that the giver held them as their 'dearest'.
